How can I audition?
Any high school or college student can audition for the GMU team by sharing a video of themselves performing and/or speaking, along with a forensics resume, with Andrew Eilola (email@example.com). You should be able to share videos via Google Drive or YouTube, preferably. Videos should be between 5-10 minutes long. If the student needs more an idea for audition material, they can reach out to Jacob Thompson, recruitment officer. Students will be notified as soon as possible whether or not they made the team. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email Dawn or Jacob.
How much of a commitment is it?
Competing in forensics is a big time commitment. The GMU team is a nationally competitive program with a rich tradition of forensics excellence, however our program encourages our students to have a diverse college experience.
Besides tournaments, are there any other commitments?
Yes. You are expected to meet with the coaches of your respective events at least once a week as well as attend a weekly meeting of the team.

GMU Forensics welcomes high school juniors and seniors, any current GMU student and any transfers from any school to compete to the best of their ability as long as they love speech. We understand that not all forensics students have the same journey and that is welcomed & celebrated on our team. We value inclusivity and strive to have a diverse team that reflects the world we live in and the issues we fight for. We are in a time of great regrowth and change. If you would like to be a part of our new legacy, reach out or audition! We look forward to welcoming new Patriots!
